District Calendar

Overview
The District Calendar module has many features which allow the publishing of district-wide and building specific events on calendars that can be seen by the public and/or staff only. The power of this package lies in its capability to allow users to select multiple calendars and view them at the same time in one view. This feature can be used for example, by a parent who has children at both an elementary school and a high school. They select both the elementary and high school calendars to combine them into one view. Now the parents can view all relevant activities and events and easily spot any conflicts. Calendars and events can be printed using a variety of filters and can be exported to a PDA. Users can also configure event reminders and new event notifications that are automatically sent to them via email.
Features
Administrator:
- Set up unlimited calendars and event types to publish district and building level events.
- Distribute calendar maintenance by setting individual or group editors for each calendar.
- Designate calendars as 'Community' (viewed by parents and community) or 'Internal' (viewed by district staff only).
- Limit 'internal' district calendars to select viewers if appropriate.
- Manage users, editing groups, and viewing groups.
Editor:
- Add events on calendars that they have been assigned to manage.
- Include dynamic content in event details section including links to maps and driving directions.
- Easily embed online forms from SchoolStream's Electronic Forms module into an event (Event registration forms, Volunteer forms, Facilities use forms, etc.).
- Add recurring events or events with no specific time (i.e. for deadlines or reminders).
- Manage existing events, including canceling events.
Viewer:
- Select personal viewing preference for calendars and event types.
- Combine selected multiple calendars and event types into one single calendar view.
- Search for events using keywords.
- View cancelled event notifications.
- Print calendars and events in a variety of formats.
- Export specific event(s) to a PDA and/or Outlook.
- Set automated email reminders on individual or groups of events.
- Subscribe to selected calendars for automated email notifications of new events.
